Simon sat bolt upright, hand clutching at the blanket that had slid down to his waist. Kayle barely even moved, although the hand resting on his bicep tightened a tiny bit. She made a muted sound of protest, but seemed unwilling to wake up and see what the problem was.
"Someone's walked into the suite," Simon whispered at her.
She barely twitched. "S'Jayne," Kayle said, her eyelids opening a tiny bit. She used the small amount of energy she had left to curl back into Simon's side.
He wasn't sure of that, though, and sent a suspicious glance toward their bedroom door. "How do you know?" He asked.
"Footsteps," she murmured, lips soft against his skin. "Memorized 'em. Sleep, Simon."
